The Move Has Been Official

for about a month now?

It's

about
the Waste

What a Waste!

Take heed of my new project, you hipsters and swindlers - wasteofbass.net will drop sometime next week (.. or the week after). The blueprint, as of now, entails promoting a line of the fresh reworks and genius that you've all been a witness to here on edwardisnotbassturd, doped-out monthly mixes, an entire configuration of Bassturd originals (along with the indoctrination of a few friends), and of course, the same treatment of Electrc wobble funk goodness that you just can't live without.

Consider this a fair warning.

Until then, enjoy a preview of my latest Wurk:

Wurk! - Bassturd [spoiler?]

The officialness will drop tangentially with the new site in a prolonged EP (evidently named - "A Turd @ Wurk"). Hope to see you soon ;]

p.s. I'm looking for some new talent to re-edit some tracks (and no, you are not getting paid). Consider it a favor to an up-and-coming behemoth. If you're interested e-mail me:

Trim the Riff

I've been getting that revamped riff feel from some pretty mean tracks lately. As Dada Life digivolves their ripped synthlines into Black vocals, I meander into the cascading line of ludicrously brisk sounds that the artists of today's post have to offer.

Seriously, somebody teach me how to read music and play a Yamaha:

Symphonies (Dada Life Remix) - Dan Black feat. Kid Cudi (B)

No Superstar (Calvertron Remix) - Remady

Skank Out (Super Sanity Remix) - Micky Slim & Stupid Fresh ft. Virus Syndicate [thank you crunkkidz!]

Camera (SebastiAn Remix) - Editors (B)

Double the treat, I got a brand new remix from Peo De Pitte!:

Breathe (Peo De Pitte Remix) - Telepopmusik (B)

Guys and Jill's, my Numark NS7 should be here in a few months. Prepare for the mix galore! Enjoy the zippy hacks 'til then ;]

Originals Go Harder

Can we, being the appreciative society we are, speculate that all sequels are shit compared to the first? I mean, I couldn't name a guy off the top of my head that isn't a fan of a fresh re-work here and there; but on the contrary, who really goes around looking for Original Mixes like that?

You're right me neither. So I've decided to showcase some of my favorite recent originals.

Oh, btw, that's Tony Senghore in the pic above:

Bootdance Salmonleg (Original Mix) - Nick Supply

Dance Me (Original Mix) - Riva Starr (B)

Hoo Haa (Original Mix) - Mightyfools

'member 'bout those fresh re-works I was talking about?:

King Of Africa (Last Japan Remix) - Douster (B) [TUNE!]

KKΚ

No don't worry blacks, you can keep your dignity; this post has no functional racist tone (... ok maybe a tiny bit). I'm proud to introduce most of you to three ponderous jocks: Sticky, Mini, & Royal K! Let's just dive right into it, shall we!?

STICKY K

This California native does a remarkable job drowning his unique, fidgety, fast treaded sounds over every one of his distinctive remixes and edits. I can really dig the solid kick drums and malodorous basslines, along with the fact that every one of his remixes is tweaked and individual to the style . The Mad Decent affiliate might have some seriously tenacious tricks for the upcoming year; let's all wait and see if he sends Bassturd some exclusives ;] Don't forget to check out his new California EP!

sticKy icKy icKy:

El Tigeraso (Sticky K Remix) - Maluca [beautifully paced track!]

Do Your Head In (Sticky K Remix) - Malente & Jay Robinson

Put Your Hands On Me (Sticky K Remix) - Crookers feat. Kardinal Offishall & Carla-Marie

Royal T (Sticky K Remix) - Crookers

MINI K

And for this South African teenager, the bangers will start off with a seemingly innocent bassline and deceiving vocals. Give it a minute or two and.. BOOM! crazy wobble funky minimal goodness for all orgasm over. Did I mention this cutie is just 19?

*Dr. Evil voice* Mini Me K, you complete me:

All The Things You Do (Mini K Remix) - Royal K feat. Miss Can D (B)  [TUNE!!!!!]

Doin It Right (Mini K Remix) - Cold Blank

Nuttahz (Mini K Remix) - Matt B

ROYAL K

And last but CERTAINLY not least, we have Mr. Royal. Being that he's my favorite out of today's three focuses, I'm positive you will all bust balls for his Afro/Stupid/HiJack-like, fidgety nourishment. Sadly, there isn't a huge bio on this handsome feller; the most I can tell ya is that he is also South African and on the same label as Mini.

Chakalaka (Royal K's Circus Bootleg) - Wippenberg

Nuttahz (Royal K's Gets Nutty Remix) - Matt B (B)

Ghosts N Stuff (Royal K's Here Comes Johnny Remix) - Deadmau5 [previously posted.. by far his best track]

Sorry, if some of these track a little outdated (by a few months or so). These three really haven't come out with anything intense for the new year, but you know I'll keep you posted! :]

saTURDay (IV) - ¡Bässturd!

To celebrate a fabulous weekend accompanied by the overly prolonged new re-work of Bassturd's Wurd (LIKE DA NEW BANNER!?), I figured I'd shower you with the finest tunes of the month (outside of the one's I've already posted). Being that this upcoming week won't be an eventful one for this blog, Bassturd has need to put in serious wurk. Yes, these tunes have all undoubtedly received the royal seal of approval - i.e. Every beat below is absolute stupido fuego.

Urbanize yourself:

Pick Up The Phone (Arithmatix! Remix) - Dragonette

Kids (Alison Wonderland Remix) - Sherlock's Daughter [what a dope ass name!]

Ambling Alp (Alan Wilkis Remix) - Yeasayer

Friend of Mine (Filthstift Remix) - Lily Allen

Black Cats (Shazam Remix) - Bertie Blackman

Caesar (Diplo Remix) - I Blame Coco feat. Robyn [love the new 150 bpm'd Dubby]

Jeffer (BeatauCue Vocal Mix) - Boyz Noize

Then get stupid:

The Button (A.D.S.R. Remix) - Thomas Gold

Los Angeles (Lee Mortimer Remix) - Cold Bank

Zipper (LA Riots Remix) - Sound Of Stereo

G Get Up and Dance (Barletta Vegan Mix) - Faber Drive

Nuff Reggae (Original Mix) - Wonk Kitch N Sync

Minds... Off (Dirty Disco Youth Remix) - DDY [leave it the Youth to remix their own damned song]

and the OMEGA track:

Funk Dat 2010 - Oh Snap!! [cheers to some RIDICULOUS lyrics. thank you disturbedbeats!]

Have a great day =]

Silly Heartless

I think quickyshare went down or had a super malfunction?

None of the links are working, and that includes my Sanctuary Remix. Luckily, I'm not too lazy, and I've reuploaded it onto 4shared! ;]

Pity though, quickyshare was pretty decent.

Sanctuary (Bassturd's Heartless Remix) - Utada Hikaru [again!]

A Lil' Crunk in Yo Trunk!

In my distinguished ritual of searching for the ultimate banger over the weekend, it seems as though I stumbled upon some new chums! If you haven't at least been to their site to find the dopest beats of the day, lemme be the first one to properly inform you that:

These bass-embedded young men go by as the Crunk Kidz, and they've granted me the honor of promoting a few of their extremely commendable remixes on my ostensibly prestigious blog. Frankly, that's exactly what I'ma do.

His tracks emulate the coldest of cool.

Can I Get Some A1 With That Treble?

A1 BASSLINE
This fine Bassline supremacy (originally named "I Will Shank You For a Penny"... yeah thanks for the name change bud) has recently caused an uproar in my extant library of complete club bangers. He's been flirted with on Bassturd's Wurd in the past, but I really figured he deserved a special spot on this glorious night. He utilizes the UFO'd synth (WHICH I FRIGGIN LUV) and quirky snares to spice up the Bassline House that he has so seemingly perfected. Along with some usually cut-rug vocals and a meaaaaan kick, he puts an overpowering influence on the dance floor... which is all that really matters. Cheers to A1, for changing that god-awful name and supplying me with potential baby-making music for the immediate future.

Yeah, it's that important:

Don't worry, there's more Bass to come. I explained to you that I've been up to my ears in the Jitterbug and streesed from trying to find a heart? Yay for Wizard of Oz references and my eventual return to a steady posting! I smell a saTURDay coming up, so to my 25+ fans, prepare to share. Do not forget to comment/favourite/follow!

How Could You Be Heartless?

That's a good question.

How did I manage to finish off this imperial remix of that master theme song to the GREATEST RPG OF ALL TIME?

It took some patience. Ladies & Gentz, I haven't posted anything for the last week for this reason and this reason only. I completed my massive 320 kbps dubstep re-edit to "Sanctuary" by Utada Hikaru packed with vocal snippets, a ridiculous bassline, and enough kick to send Ansem running for cover.

Trust me, I put all my heart & soul into this one:

Sanctuary (Bassturd's Heartless Remix) - Utada Hikaru (B)

Warning - I did upload this to a site (thanks to nicenoiz) so I can actually monitor how many downloads this gets... so spread the word and enjoy! Feedback is always appreciated ;]

Love,
Bassturd

Got some high quality shit for you this evening. Less talky, more

Bass...y?

It's A Smash (Dave Darell Mix) - Spencer & Hill feat. Dave Darell [yes, there are two different tracks; which mix do you like more?]

Tribute To Voodoo Ray (Dabruck & Klein Remix) - DJ Dan (B) [Look out fellow negroes and clan members, we might see a possible D & K comeback]

So then there's this cool story about how my friend introduced me to this DJ on... yeah you don't care. Take some Dirty House to the store with you:

Riverside (Peo De Pitte Rerub) - Sidney Samson (B) [You knew I'd get on it eventually.]

And now you're getting so so sleepy:

POP! Goes the Bassssss

Yes, rehearsals for Bishop Ahr High School's prestigious adaptation of the Wizard of Oz have done a number on my collective ass and possible manhood (i.e. ALLLLL THE DAMN'D SKIPPING). By miraculous conformity, it appears as though I still have time for the beats.

I proudly acquaint the Bassturd-jocking-community to Bass Weazal - the dexterously effulgent duo. Word on the street is Will Bailey just got bored one day and just nonchalantly decided to create one of the most epic twosomes to arise from the UK (settling at #10 on my constantly evolving list of best groups). Sorry, they haven't really updated for the new year :/ I know you'll be so deprived to hear tracks from within the last 4 months.

A penny for a spool of thread, a penny for a needle - that's the way the money goes,

BOOM! goes the treble:

Jimmy's got the whooping cough and Timmy's got the measles, that's the way the story goes,

PLOP! goes the Mashups:

I don't know if you guys just don't read the blurbs before the posts, or you have the attention span of goldfish (hi ranger), but I did ask for some

COMMENTS. Let me know what you think!

Keep It Movin'

As Baby New Year rears it's fat ass head, we find ourselves at the peak of 2010. Grrrreat. Another year of economical turmoil, war, distorted political philosophies, and famine.

Big things comin' (as if you couldn't already smell) for Bassturd! I can't wait to release the new remixes, and hopefully some EP's? eh. I will, however, humbly ask that I start to embrace some kinda feedback outside of the occasional, "Oh, I love your website!" or "Yeah, you're music is really good"; not that I don't take the compliments to heart, it's just in order to evolve the blog into a more elaborate masterpiece of a musically promotional website, I need to at least see the slightest sign of a critical audience. So to keep it bluntly and sweet -

for the love of God, COMMENT or follow/subscribe/favorite..

Meanwhile I'll try to keep you updated on the freshest shit since sliced bread:

Yes and Dance (Weirdo Police Refix) - 500 Silver Columns

She-Wolf (Calvin Harris Remix) - Shakira (B) [oldie!]

WTF (Deekline & Tim Healey Remix) - Tittsworth feat Kid Sister & Pase Rock (B)

When Mr Hyde Killed Dr Jekyll (Original Mix) - The Phantom's Revenge

One (MMMatthias Remix) - Yeasayer (B)

New DnB Remix to Flashback!:

Flashback (Goldie Remix) - Calvin Harris (B)

Again, positive/negative feedback is always appreciated. As a DJ it's my civic duty to please the crowd.
