Take heed of my new project, you hipsters and swindlers - wasteofbass.net will drop sometime next week (.. or the week after). The blueprint, as of now, entails promoting a line of the fresh reworks and genius that you've all been a witness to here on edwardisnotbassturd, doped-out monthly mixes, an entire configuration of Bassturd originals (along with the indoctrination of a few friends), and of course, the same treatment of Electrc wobble funk goodness that you just can't live without.
The officialness will drop tangentially with the new site in a prolonged EP (evidently named - "A Turd @ Wurk"). Hope to see you soon ;]
p.s. I'm looking for some new talent to re-edit some tracks (and no, you are not getting paid). Consider it a favor to an up-and-coming behemoth. If you're interested e-mail me:
I've been getting that revamped riff feel from some pretty mean tracks lately. As Dada Life digivolves their ripped synthlines into Black vocals, I meander into the cascading line of ludicrously brisk sounds that the artists of today's post have to offer.
Seriously, somebody teach me how to read music and play a Yamaha:
Can we, being the appreciative society we are, speculate that all sequels are shit compared to the first? I mean, I couldn't name a guy off the top of my head that isn't a fan of a fresh re-work here and there; but on the contrary, who really goes around looking for Original Mixes like that?
You're right me neither. So I've decided to showcase some of my favorite recent originals.
No don't worry blacks, you can keep your dignity; this post has no functional racist tone (... ok maybe a tiny bit). I'm proud to introduce most of you to three ponderous jocks: Sticky, Mini, & Royal K! Let's just dive right into it, shall we!?
STICKY K
This California native does a remarkable job drowning his unique, fidgety, fast treaded sounds over every one of his distinctive remixes and edits. I can really dig the solid kick drums and malodorous basslines, along with the fact that every one of his remixes is tweaked and individual to the style . The Mad Decent affiliate might have some seriously tenacious tricks for the upcoming year; let's all wait and see if he sends Bassturd some exclusives ;] Don't forget to check out his new California EP!
And for this South African teenager, the bangers will start off with a seemingly innocent bassline and deceiving vocals. Give it a minute or two and.. BOOM! crazy wobble funky minimal goodness for all orgasm over. Did I mention this cutie is just 19?
And last but CERTAINLY not least, we have Mr. Royal. Being that he's my favorite out of today's three focuses, I'm positive you will all bust balls for his Afro/Stupid/HiJack-like, fidgety nourishment. Sadly, there isn't a huge bio on this handsome feller; the most I can tell ya is that he is also South African and on the same label as Mini.
Sorry, if some of these track a little outdated (by a few months or so). These three really haven't come out with anything intense for the new year, but you know I'll keep you posted! :]
To celebrate a fabulous weekend accompanied by the overly prolonged new re-work of Bassturd's Wurd (LIKE DA NEW BANNER!?), I figured I'd shower you with the finest tunes of the month (outside of the one's I've already posted). Being that this upcoming week won't be an eventful one for this blog, Bassturd has need to put in serious wurk. Yes, these tunes have all undoubtedly received the royal seal of approval - i.e. Every beat below is absolute stupidofuego.
Hey laddies and lasses, see those nice 5 stars under this post? You can now rate Bassturd's posts! So I'll correct myself and instruct you properly: comment/favourite/follow/ & RATE ;] It'll only take a click.
In my distinguished ritual of searching for the ultimate banger over the weekend, it seems as though I stumbled upon some new chums! If you haven't at least been to their site to find the dopest beats of the day, lemme be the first one to properly inform you that:
you're fuckin' up.
These bass-embedded young men go by as the Crunk Kidz, and they've granted me the honor of promoting a few of their extremely commendable remixes on my ostensibly prestigious blog. Frankly, that's exactly what I'ma do.
His tracks emulate the coldest of cool.
His chill basslines and emotionless lyrics are a surefire smash for any club.
This Deutschland native of the dope has been flirted with on a couple of posts. It's time for a proper intro.
Step your game up America, Germany is shitting on you:
I've been Stockpiling songs for the last 2 weeks (hence the Generation IV Pokemon reference) in pursuit to find specific songs for whatever posts and subsequently keep you all entertained and satisfied..
aaaand it seems that I Stockpiled for a turn too many. My HP is low, and Venusaur just started gathering some sunlight! Lemme blow you away with these diabolical tunes before I get whited out. Oh, and don't just download the tracks that have recieved the eternally-famous Bassturd Seal of Approval (B).. cause then I'd have to scold you.
A lot of big names being thrown out into this post. Be sure to hear more details soon! Now I'm all caught up with my promotional business. Back to working on my new remix ;]
This fine Bassline supremacy (originally named "I Will Shank You For a Penny"... yeah thanks for the name change bud) has recently caused an uproar in my extant library of complete club bangers. He's been flirted with on Bassturd's Wurd in the past, but I really figured he deserved a special spot on this glorious night. He utilizes the UFO'd synth (WHICH I FRIGGIN LUV) and quirky snares to spice up the Bassline House that he has so seemingly perfected. Along with some usually cut-rug vocals and a meaaaaan kick, he puts an overpowering influence on the dance floor... which is all that really matters. Cheers to A1, for changing that god-awful name and supplying me with potential baby-making music for the immediate future.
Don't worry, there's more Bass to come. I explained to you that I've been up to my ears in the Jitterbug and streesed from trying to find a heart? Yay for Wizard of Oz references and my eventual return to a steady posting! I smell a saTURDay coming up, so to my 25+ fans, prepare to share. Do not forget to comment/favourite/follow!
How did I manage to finish off this imperial remix of that master theme song to the GREATEST RPG OF ALL TIME?
It took some patience. Ladies & Gentz, I haven't posted anything for the last week for this reason and this reason only. I completed my massive 320 kbps dubstep re-edit to "Sanctuary" by Utada Hikaru packed with vocal snippets, a ridiculous bassline, and enough kick to send Ansem running for cover.
Trust me, I put all my heart & soul into this one:
Warning - I did upload this to a site (thanks to nicenoiz) so I can actually monitor how many downloads this gets... so spread the word and enjoy! Feedback is always appreciated ;]
Yes, rehearsals for Bishop Ahr High School's prestigious adaptation of the Wizard of Oz have done a number on my collective ass and possible manhood (i.e. ALLLLL THE DAMN'D SKIPPING). By miraculous conformity, it appears as though I still have time for the beats.
I proudly acquaint the Bassturd-jocking-community to Bass Weazal - the dexterously effulgent duo. Word on the street is Will Bailey just got bored one day and just nonchalantly decided to create one of the most epic twosomes to arise from the UK (settling at #10 on my constantly evolving list of best groups). Sorry, they haven't really updated for the new year :/ I know you'll be so deprived to hear tracks from within the last 4 months.
A penny for a spool of thread, a penny for a needle - that's the way the money goes,
As Baby New Year rears it's fat ass head, we find ourselves at the peak of 2010. Grrrreat. Another year of economical turmoil, war, distorted political philosophies, and famine.
Big things comin' (as if you couldn't already smell) for Bassturd! I can't wait to release the new remixes, and hopefully some EP's? eh. I will, however, humbly ask that I start to embrace some kinda feedback outside of the occasional, "Oh, I love your website!" or "Yeah, you're music is really good"; not that I don't take the compliments to heart, it's just in order to evolve the blog into a more elaborate masterpiece of a musically promotional website, I need to at least see the slightest sign of a critical audience. So to keep it bluntly and sweet -
for the love of God, COMMENT or follow/subscribe/favorite..
Meanwhile I'll try to keep you updated on the freshest shit since sliced bread:
